Stewardship At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we believe the Church is called to be a sign, in and for the world, of the opportunity which God has made available to people in Jesus Christ. To that end we seek to educate the whole congregation about the needs of our local community, nation and world. We provide a myriad of options for people of all ages to reach out to those in need. With financial gifts we support local mission projects, such as Westminster Infant Care Center, Common Place, Friendship House, Boys and Girls Clubs of Peoria, West/Mark Food Pantry, Heartland Community Clinic and many others. These gifts may also extend across the globe to reach people through Presbyterian Church (USA) mission efforts, disaster relief and health and education programs. "In life and death, we belong to God." So begins our Brief Statement of Faith. We belong to God, and so do our possessions. They do not belong to us as individuals, they belong to God. God does not intend for us to keep these gifts to ourselves. He means us to share them with others-with other members of our church and with the wider community that our God serves. God calls us to reach out to others through the Church. God calls us to share with others in need. Session committees within the Stewardship Department include: Finance, Personnel, Properties, Stewardship and Development Fund. Development Fund: The Westminster Development Fund (WDF) committee receives gifts, memorials and bequests on behalf of the fund (est.1960) from members and friends of Westminster Presbyterian Church. We invest these contributions, monitor investment performance, and recommend expenditures for approval by Session. These expenditures are used to enhance the church's mission, ministry, properties and other programs.
